Thank you for your response.

As I mentioned above, my logs are lost whenever I have to restart the router. I use the cable only for internet.

I don't think these factors matter for the problem. Even if the router looses the connection to the modem I still should be able to access the router's management page.

There is a timely correlation to the scheduling. The router never stopped working during regular operation. It was only in the morning when it was supposed to activate wifi. I turned of the schedule now to see if the router becomes more stable.

Any router log indication of loosing or re-establishing connection with isp modem during this time frame?
Does ISP offer any log viewing abilities?
Is the ISP cable line a dedicated internet line or does it also provide television services?
If so, make sure there aren't any TV line splitters on the cable line. These will lower the signal going into the cable modem. If you need too, use a One good quality one.

Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Cat6 is recommended.

Keep us posted. I'll try this when I get home. Can you provide a scheduling time frame and how your setting it up so I can replicate your condition?

Sure. I use 7 AM as start time and 12:30 AM as stop time.

I just realized there is a firmware version 1.02b11 available on dlink.de (on dlink.com 1.01 is still the latest version). I will give this a try before disabling the schedule completely.

Follow the FW update sticky in the FAQ forum for doing the update.
FW Update Process
Keep us posted.
I set mine to turn off at 2am and on at 2pm, I'll try your settings as well.
So you leave your wireless devices on while the wireless schedule is in effect and then when you come back you can't connect as the wireless seems to be not enabled?

My router has now been running normally for 2 weeks now with a daily scheduled off/on of the wireless part. Maybe it helped setting it to quiet channel, but it is hard to diagnose when the issue can't reproduced at will.

And it stopped working again  :(

My brother is visiting and made a wireless connection with his phone and laptop. It worked for a few minutes and then the router stopped responding again like before. Only a power off/on solved it.

And the router password was also blank after the power off/on.

I played for 6 hours on XBL yesterday. Xbox was wireless along with my Mac Book and iPhone connected. Didn't see any issues until the wireless schedule kicked in at 3pm.  ::) I'll change it tonight to match yours.

Got 300 on the xbox and 130 with Mac Book. Overall it was good yesterday.

Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using teamviewer if your interested. Its safe and secure.

So set my 645 up yesterday for 7am and 12:30am and I got up yesterday am before the 7am kick off time and I could not access the WiFi, I checked the WiFi indicator and it was OFF. I came home yesterday afternoon and checked the WiFi and it was ON and I could gain access just fine. I changed the schedule for 6am to 2am last night. I checked this morning when I got up and I had internet. I presume it shut off during the night at 2am since I went to bed at midnight and came back on at 6am.

Sure. I use 7 AM as start time and 12:30 AM as stop time.

Unfortunately the problem does not occur every day. I ran 2 weeks without problems and now I had the problem 2 days in a row. But when it happens it is a few minutes after the WLAN part gets activated.

I will send you a PM with a link to my router config.

One thing I'd like for you to test for 2 days if you can, turn OFF the wireless radio and just test wired and see if any problems arise while wired to the router. I'd like to isolate this to the wireless if possible.

I loaded your config and took a look:
I see your running G mode only? No N?
I would turn SPI back ON.
I would also enable the rest of the 3 ALG options. Those should remain enabled.

Other than this, all seems ok. Maybe we can have a review live sometime at your router settings. How has it been running? I played xbox for a bit last night. Router was fine.

My router has been running for 3 weeks now without problems. So I believe the scheduler problem is fixed in firmware version 1.02b11.

Here is the link to that version: ftp://ftp.dlink.de/dir/dir-645/driver_software/

Be advised that the version you posted is for EU or a german version of these routers and not for NA units or supported on NA units. Glad its working well for you. Enjoy.
