Problems to configure DFL-260,cant get internet access

hi , i have a lot of problems to configure the WAN and LAN Interfaces , can you help me please?

i can set the ip of the lan interface:

10.0.0.254  10.0.0.0/24  (i think thats the rigth config)

now i set up the WAN interface with this ip of my ADSL modem to go out to internet:

wan ip:192.168.1.49
wannet: 192.168.1.0/24
wangw: 192.168.1.254 (dsl modem ip)
wandns: 192.168.1.254


the ip configuration of my laptop connected on the dfl-260

ip:10.0.0.30
mask: 255.255.255.0
gw: 10.0.0.254

dns: 10.0.0.254


the entire network is this:

INTERNET>>MODEM ADSL>>DFL-260>>LAN

but i try a several times to get internet on lan but doesnt work , you can help me please??

Hi, you need to setup a DNS relay on the firewall to your ISP's DNS address.  Details can be found here: ftp://files.dlink.com.au/products/DFL-260/REV_A/SetupGuides/How_to_configure_DNS_Relay.pdf

you have to try things like a ping from pc to the dfl lan ip, solve it and
after that ping from the pc to adsl modem ip  solve it and

after that a ping from pc to some known ip on the internet solve it and

after that nslookup to verify name resolution solve it and

after that a telnet to 80 port to some known web page, and

after that you have navigation ok

have a nice trouble shooting   8)

another option is

restore factory defaults and try the wizard

after that analyze the rules and objects created to better understanding

dont worry

we all go through it at first with these firewalls its a nice feature the rolling back config if there is no confirmation

hello, thanks for the replys.

im trying using the wizard, but at last step the page doesnt refresh and the configuration its been discard,

i try with internet explorer 7 version 7.0.5730.13 and mozilla 8.0.1 but on both doesnt work the wizard  :(

another way to configure succsefully the internet on this firewall?

plus i need to configure the port forwarding for one small server but i need to understand how made work the internet first   :(

i hope you can help me on this, regards!!
