hi all, thanks in advance for your attention and help ...
straight to the point, i bought a dcs-932l for my grandfather ... it was supposed to be a
pleasant gadget for him, for years he's been saying he would absolutely love the ability
of seeing who's ringing the door ( he lives upstairs from his old shop, now my shop ... ) so he knows
if it is worth standing up or not .... well, fair enough ... i went out and got this camera ... after lots of trouble installing ( i've read tons of messages in this forum, and it shed some light to the point where I was able to get the wizard to "find" the camera [wireless and wired] from my linksys/cisco e3000 router ... but ... the wizard failed on "adding the device to mydlink profile" .. which is something I've read all around here too ... so, instead of "Skip" I chose to "Cancel" and try again ( my understanding is that the only way to add a device to mydlink profile is through this wizard ) ... that by itself is not even a problem yet ... as I tried to redo the install process following hints all around the internet ... we got stuck big time on the fact that
when I plug the camera to the power ( with or w/o ethernet cable ) all the leds are red and the main front led is red but constantly blinking ... which doesn't match any troubleshooting in the device's manual ... so I thought ... well, let's hard-reset it and try it again, eh ? ... well ... doing the "please, w an unfolded paper clip press the reset button for at least 6 seconds and wait for it to boot within another 60 seconds ........ does absolutely NOTHING ! i've pressed it for 3 seconds, released, 6 seconds, ... all the way to 2 f* minutes ... the camera does not react at all ... it does nothing ... (pressing the reset whilst it is plugged in the power w/wire and wirless - tried'em both ) ... the red led keeps blinking - all other leds around the len are red ... ........... i just don't know what to do anymore ... this is so frustrating ....... additional info: on the first setup i did use the WPS button on the dcs-032l and on my e3000 router ... they did synch ... and since then, the blue led ( wps on the dcs-932l became solid blue ) ... is solid blue all the time as long as it is connected to the power ... hard resetting doesn't even tickle the blue led ( nor stops the frontal red led from blinking ) ... this is mad .... would be very grateful any help out there ... before my pops throw the thingy through the window ... cheers then,
i

Frankly I think throwing the damn thing through the window and buying something else is the best way to keep your sanity intact.  ;D

I have been struggling too, and am just about ready to give up.  It really isn't a very good device.
