Hello all, I am experiencing an issue I have so far narrowed down to bit torrent traffic with the 827. After some time downloading a file/files with bitorrent, my router will lock up disallowing all network traffic and becoming unresponsive to router access or ping request. After approximately 2 minutes the router will reboot itself and continue along its merry way. I have QOS enabled, and have not tried disabling it yet. I am hoping this can be fixed without losing QOS as I need it for my voip phone.
I had this issue happen multiple times the first week I owned the device so I exchanged it for a new one. I had the router up and running for 2 days problem free until I tried to download a torrent, then it crashed. The last time the router crashed I also had been downloading a torrent. Both times it happened within 10 minutes of starting to download. After the router reboots itself it seems to hold fine for the session. I am not entirely sure how to replicate this. My connection is 5mbps down and 768kup so I am not exactly taxing a high end home router. Since I have tried two routers I presume it is something that is firmware related.
After a reboot all my logs are gone and a new one is started, so I can not see if the cause was logged. I may have to try setting up a syslog server to catch it. *Edit* I am just ******ed and didnt see the logs have pages opposed to a long log. Still, sifting through my log I am not sure which entry is the culprit
*edit*
I will leave my settings as is and if it reboots again I will disable QOS and try. The router does feel fairly warm, I may try putting a laptop cooler under it to test again as well.
Has anyone else had this issue and resolved it? I love the router beyond this and hope it can be ironed out into a stable device.
