Having problems with dap-2553 with warehouse scanners
« on: April 25, 2012, 02:38:24 PM »

Hi our warehouse use old STP 1846 scanners from symbol. However we are having trouble with the wifi access point array we set up with the dap-2553 to replace the old access points of AP4131.

I got a feeling the wireless security this router doesnt support. the ap4131 supports:

Symbol Security Suite, Symbol's Multi-Mode Security Suite: industry standard 40 and 128 bit WEP encryption; KeyGuardâ„¢, Symbol's TKIP encryption implementation; Kerberos V5 based mobile security; EAP/TLS; RADIUS; or combination

So i think the scanners might be using Symbol's TKIP encryption implementation so it fails when jumping from one access point to another.

Any way to support that?

I would call your local DLink support, level 2 or 3 and ask about that.
