If set the LAN to 1000 duplex I get better throughput than If I set it to Auto 100/1000,but the problem is that then my internet modem stops working,is there a solution to this?

Does your ISP Modem support Gb speeds on it's WAN port or 10 or 100Mb?

I´m not sure, I think its 100mb,I will found it out.

Then you can only set the router for 100Mb or use Auto.
If your looking for Gb on the ISP modem, I highly recommend a Motorola SB 6 series cable modems if your on cable ISP.

Not off the top of my head. Motorola has some DSL modems, not sure of the ports speeds they support though. Dlink makes DSL modems, might check the specs on some of theres and see. I'd review each DSL modem and see what they support, DLink, Linksys, Motorola, places like that and see what each modem supports. Any chance you have a good cable ISP in your area you could switch too?

Ok, well, I would check out DLink and some of the other Mfrs modems and see what is available. Check with your ISP. If not, I wouldn't worry about it. You can still use Gb on the LAN side. I might recommend installing a external network Gb switch to help out as well. Removes the router from your network from doing any unnecessary processing, yet still allows internet and allows for greater file xfers speeds between PCs. I have a 24 port off my router.

No need for gigabit on the WAN side with ADSL, the best speed you will get with ADSL is maybe 25Mbps download. Ethernet at 100Mbps will easily handle ADSL x 300%. There is no reason for a ADSL modem to have a gigabit port unless it is a router also.

Now if you want Gigabit on the LAN side to transfer from one computer to another, that makes sense and is easy to do.

Some logic would dictate having gigabit from end to end MAY be faster, but with DSL and store and forward types of switching with large buffers the speed increase would not be worth the money spent to obtain it. The law of diminishing returns is 100% valid in this case.

Now with my download speed at home of 100Mbps++, using 100Mbps Ethernet was slowing me down considerably, so I force a gigabit WAN port to get 105Mbps to 110Mbps download.

I have both, but my 100Mbps x 5Mbps and IPV6 all come from cable, I think Charter cable is the only one offering 100Mbps download right now. My SB6120 has a Gigabit port but when I went to the faster speed I had my router WAN set at 100Mbps, it took a few minutes to figure out! Must have happened after I did the last reset. My DSL modem has a 100Mbps port.

I also have dialup, just installed a NEW US Robotics HARDWARE V.92 modem (no stinkin soft modems here!)into my windows box a couple of weeks ago.

In a pinch, I can even break out the Morse code key!
