My IPv6 headache has started again.
When I bought the router, the box was clearly labled IPv6 ready.
It's a good product provided D-Link continues its support of DIR-655.
The HD Media routers are probably the best choice but also the more costly choice.
I don't need a new router, I want this one supported since it's not that old.
I looked for the fireware emulator for the HD Media 3000 router and it's not available online. I wanted to make sure the new line of the routers has a 20MHz channel width option for the 2.4GHz band. The wider bandwidth mode on that band murders the small spectrum of the 2.4GHz band. I just need basic connectivity which I use 20MHz (Max: 130Mbps) in place of the Auto 20/40Mhz option. Using the inSSIDer software, I have analyzed what my router sees from neighboring networks. The wide bandwidth (300Mbps) of the neightbor closest to me does cause some channel allocation problems especially with other neighbors and me.
Again I don't need a new router, I want my router to be well-supported. It's a fine product, and my router is about 1 year old. I can't afford too many expensive changes in my life.
Regards,
Mark.
