Hi Folks,

On the assumption that MAC filtering won't be possible for WiFi-only clients in the DIR-857, are there specific home/business D-Link WiFi AP's to look at?  There are so many units listed that I'm not sure how to interpret the model lineups on the product site.

Ideally looking for an AP that will offer private/guest segregation natively or via VLAN.

Any DLINK specific recommendations are welcome,

Well this topic was moved to the DAP-1525 from the DIR-857; so let me expand ...

I'm looking for D-Link AP's that 100% compatible with the DIR-857 ... which doesn't necessarily mean that I'm looking to confirm that the DAP-1525 is such a device.  I am looking to manage to internal WiFi LAN's - 1) Private & 2) Guest/Visitors.  I'm currently achieving this using a D-Link DSA-3200 + 2 DWL-G700AP's.  LAN1 (guest) to DWL and LAN2 (private) to the other DWL.

The guest LAN is configured with a schedule to deny access during late evening/early morning and set to allow all devices with authentication via the DSA-3200.

The private LAN is configured with MAC filtering and configured with a similar access schedule.

Cheers,

I would contact DLink Sales or one of the DAP model support teams and talk to them about your needs.

Appreciate the reply; tried that route ... two problems came up:

- Long phone wait times (1.5 hrs+)
- The two folks I spoke with had no clue about the products

... hence the forum route.

I would ask for Level 2  or 3 tech support. I would also try email as well.

D-Link DAP 1360, 1513, 1522, 1525, 1533
D-Link DIR-865L, 505, 505L, and 506L.
