Slow wireless speed
« on: March 30, 2009, 05:38:53 AM »

I have a DWL G510 card that is running at 18mbps thru a new DIR 615 wireless router. When I use my laptop, I'm getting 54 mbps. Both show excellent signal strength. Any ideas why my desktop runs so slow? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I have downloaded the latest drivers. I had been using a D-link DI-524 wireless router before I got the new DIR-615 and it would run at 54mbps before it started dropping the connection and I stopped using it. My wired connections show 100mbps. Do you think its the card (DWL-G510)or the new router? I've tried all the ideas listed in other postings about slow speed. Using the Network Magic speed test I am getting 7000kbps download and 3300kbps upload on the wireless. Getting 12,000kbps download and 3300 upload on a wired computer. Any ideas would be appreciated
