Keep getting codec error with wmv files

I finally got the 750 to connect to WMC but now I keep getting codec or currupt file errors or file not supported on xvid and wmv files that play fine on the pc windows media center and also play fine through media lounge.  Why will they not play in windows media extender mode???

Did you create these files yourself? What software was used to create the file and what settings?

No, most I have downloaded over the years.  These files play fine streamed from twonkyvision in medialounge mode on the 750 and a 520 I have.  And, they play with windows vista in windows media center.  Does what codecs are installed in vista affect the DSM-750 in windows media center mode or does the 750 just play whats pre-programmed into the firmware?  I thought the extender was just that, an extension of what's set up on the computer, so if it plays on the computer it should play on the extender but apparently not.

I have never seen an issue with WMV files All the ones I have seem to play fine in Extender mode or Media Lounge mode. Would you mind emailing me a sample file to test?

Sure, but it shows your email as hidden
The HD wmv files are in the neigborhood of 4 gigs so I'll have to try and figure out how to cut just a portion.
