p2p torrent help
« on: June 13, 2012, 02:37:08 PM »

I have just set up my Dlink 320 share center. I have came to use the P2P torrent client and though i can get the torrent client to download im having a few problems. First of all on the settings i cant seem to change the folder path to where my torrents are downloaded to. The only option i have is to save onto the drive. I would ideally like to have a download folder which they are put into.

Secondly when the torrent has been downloaded i cant seem to find it. It does not appear on the hardrive at all.

Any advice?

After doing some research i have found it in the web file server. But from what i have read the P2p folder is hidden. I have tried a few fixes like trying to share a different folder such as "torrents" and iv disabled and enabled.

I cant seem to find a decent way around this. Has anyone fixed this issue or atleast have a good work around.

So far i must say im not very impressed with this dlink

Add fun_plug and transmission if you are looking for a more versatile P2P client. Not for beginners though.

Build-in works but it is very limited.

Are you using a 3rd party router with DD-WRT?
if yes, set your port to 18xxx and set the protocol to both and forward port to the NAS IP. You may also want to check your Firewall settings. I found adding this to the Firewall command helped me:
Quote
iptables -I INPUT -p udp --sport 67 --dport 68 -j ACCEPT

My Download rate is set to -1 and upload set to 25 with Encryption on.
I have 5mbps service and get between 580-605KBps (4.64-4.84mbps) for torrents on the DNS-320.

I upgraded my firmware to 2.02 and found that the P2P folder is now hidden from the volume. it appears as a separate network share (Volume_1/P2P or VOlume_2/P2P), so you can permission and map this from your PC. It's a pain, because I used to download to P2P and then move the resulting files to another location - now, I have to copy rather than move.
