I wouldn't think QoS is needed for streaming as it will impact performance. QoS is mainly meant or needed if you have more than 1 or 2 devices online at the same time to ensure each device is getting the same or near equal bandwidth while online at the same time. If only one device is online at a time, QoS isn't really needed. If you are streaming from a internal NAS or server, I highly recommend adding a external Gb network switch between the host router and connected devices. This will help eliminate any unnecessary router processing and allow for more of a direct connection between devices. I use one and works well while streaming video to my Boxee Box from the server while others are gaming.
