Is it possible to get some specs regarding this new model?

One thing that was nice about 825 was the 350Mhz Ubicom chip gave great routing performance.  Is this model now going to be based on Broadcom stuff?  How fast is the chip?  The fasted Broadcom dual band I know of on the market is 300Mhz.  Why the change in chips?  Seems like a pretty big deal to switch the platform in a hardware revision.

It's actually a very common procedure. The 655 has two different switch models and 2 different AP's among the 4 revisions.

As for the NAT operating at a slower speed, I can't comment, but I'm sure the product will perform to expectations.

Right, but AFAIK, all the 655 revisions still use the Ubicom IP5160U.  My point was that it seems strange to change the CPU the router is based on (versus just changing the radio or switch).

I guess we will have to wait for some to open it up to see whats inside.

Again, it's just as common. The 615 is 3 different vendors among the 3 revisions.

Any updates on the availability of the new revision?  I just checked bunch of electronics retailers in the New York city area and came up empty:

* J&R: Rev A1 only, checked in store.
* Datavision: Special order only, does not guarantee revisions.  Checked in store.
* Best Buy: Out of stock at all New York locations according to website.
* Staples: Doesn't stock it, checked website and several locations.
* Officemax: Doesn't stock it according to website.
* Compusa: Doesn't stock it according to website.
* PC Richard and Son: Doesn't stock it according to website.
* Radioshack: Doesn't stock it at several locations.

I also pinged Newegg sales staff, who gave their stock answer that they typically carry the latest revision available, but can't check revs on their current stock and can't promise one revision or another.  In this thread and in their customer reviews, there's confirmation that they were still shipping A1's as of about a month ago and no updates since.

Has anyone found a source for B1 units?  I've never seen a vendor firmware I liked as much as openwrt, and if there's a chance that the new hardware will be supported at some point that's a significant differentiator for me.  On the other hand, I'd really like to upgrade in the next 30 days or so... so if there isn't any availability I may have to suck it up and settle for the current hardware available.

Bought mine from Newegg on June 13th and it is a B1.

Returned the router due to continuous dropping of internet connection.  Spoke to level 3 support, who advised that this was a known issue and until there is revised firmware there was nothing they could do to stop the connection being dropped.  They suggested that I try to swap it for an A1 version

So I had my A1 RMA'd and got a B1 in return.  At this point I wish I kept my A1. I'm no longer having router lock-up issues that the A1 had with the 1.11NA, but now my WAN(internet connection) is frequently getting disconnected with the B1 model 2.00NA. 

Here's what I've noticed so far when issue occurs:
-Still able to log into the router and also see my WAN IP(not sure if it's there because it hasn't erased yet, or might still really be connected)
-Happens when I use my hard-wired computer. My wireless dosen't have a problem(until the hard wired computer blows up the router, then none of the computers can connect to internet, but are still able to log into router).
-Sometimes after a minute or so, the router might go back to it's normal state until I try to start browsing on the computer that's hard wired. Sometimes I might have to reset the router.

I've heard of a few people having the same issue along the line of frequent internet disconnects with the 825 B1 revision. Is this something that can be fixed with a future firmware update?

I got my B1 at Fry's in Austin, TX on the 7th.  Unfortunately my wired lan port keeps hanging.  This disrupts my wireless users as well since I am running DNS on my server to deal with the missing loopback NAT support.

Very frustrated.  I'm concerned the dropped wired connections could be hardware, and not even openwrt could save this router.

  Holy clap, here I was saddened that I got a DIR-825 revision A1 from newegg.com not too long ago... and now I am reading that the hardware revision B1 that I was hoping to get is bugged out more than the A1 version.  Holy clap (replace letter L with r in clap to get real meaning    )

Same thing here, only when it starts happening to me, sometimes I can't even connect TO the router, although I can connect to other hard-wired computers THROUGH the router...

Did you guys try to upgrade the firmware to 2.02?

I just installed 2.02NA and all seems well so far.  No WAN drops and no intermittent Router blackouts yet... of course it has only been a few hours .  No matter what, the new Firmware is MUCH better than 2.0.

I have also B1 with 2.00EU. My device was bought from Finland.

Same thing here and I live in Sweden, I bought it yesterday, can't flash it dough, it rejects the new firmware 2.02NA, bummer
