Author Topic: Editing remote backup: Stuck at connection test (for large backups)  (Read 2704 times)

I'm using a remote backup for my /home partition. Its size is about 200 GB. I just want to change the time of day when the backup is started. But when I try to edit the remote backup's settings it get's stuck at "Connection test - testing..." while the disks in the DNS are obviously working hard.

It's not a problem if the size of the backup is rather small. I don't get why there has to be any disk/data checking at all, when all you need is to check the connection to the computer.

This issue has plagued me for a while now. I was hoping it would be fixed in the new 2.03 beta firmware but it isn't. (Right now the DNS is stuck there for about an hour...)

This must be fixed as soon as possible. But since we all know that it's rather uncertain if anything ever gets fixed with these devices: Does anybody know a workaround?

Thanks in advance.

You're probably best installing funplug and looking at the cron job that runs the backup to reschedule it there.
