System Freezes When I Click "Play Song" or "Play Album"
« on: April 04, 2009, 06:41:44 PM »

Hi everyone,
My DSM-750 freezes in Extender mode every time I click “Play Album” or “Play Song” in my Music Library.  Same thing for videos.  I have to reboot to get out of it.   I can browse through the entire library, but I can’t play anything.   The same exact songs play fine from a USB stick or from My Media, but not through Extender mode.

Here is my configuration:
D-Link DSM-750 with latest 1.02 firmware; Ethernet connected
D-Link DIR-655 router
Windows Vista (32-bit) Home Premium SP1
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 (firewall rules for svchost, ehshell.exe, etc. are in – but even if I completely disable this software, 750 still freezes)
Windows Media Player 11
Media Monkey 3.0 Gold (could this be causing a conflict?)

Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Have you tried uninstalling the anti-virus software using there removal utility and test it. Disable rarely fully disables this software they seem to always leave some services running. And the fact you need a utility to uninstall the software simply disabling may not do the trick.

I have not tried completely uninstalling it.   I will try that and report back.   Thanks.
