DIR-655 Rev. B NA Firmware?
« on: July 04, 2012, 11:34:40 AM »

Yesterday I had the routers web interface check for updates and it said that there was a v 2.06 available.  Nowhere in dlink site do I find evidence of this ever being available.  Anyone know what's up?  I have know that the 2.07 version is mucked up and that a new beta is out but why in the world would the router itself find this mystery version?
Currently (happily) running 2.03 by the way.

Funny, My router found this version and I was not aware of a 2.06NA. I installed it and now I'm having problems adding mac addresses to the network filter. The message is "Invalid MAC address". Of course, it doesn't tell me which entry is invalid and I have a number of them.  :'(

I wasn't about to install a new firmware until seeing the fixes it includes, nor a period of waiting for others to report back on it.  The version history that dlink posts for this router jumps from 2.03 to 2.07, and the forum warns about using 2.07.  So.....who's the router getting this version from and why isn't it showing me the latest (avoided) version of 07?

Has a Factory reset been performed after the update was applied. Try that and set up the router from scratch to see if it clears the issue. Don't load any saved configuration files.

Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking.
Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?

If your still seeing issues, then I would recommend downloading v2.03 and apply this version as it was the last most stable version and didn't break Shareport. Thats one item that v2.07 does for those who use Shareport.
