Posted on behalf of member DaviSta (from PM):

Hi there sorry to bother you but I'm at a complete loss with this issue.

I'm struggling to install my :

D-Link Super G Wireless LAN Adapter IEEE 802.11 b/g

Unfortunately i know little information about the card , i brought a PC from E-Bay , 2ND hand and the card was already in the PCI slot , device manager finds the card but will not install the driver.

I have try to download manually but have installed several wrong drivers before i stumbled across this site , but I'm struggling to navigate around and find what I'm looking for.

If you could help id be ever so grateful , thanks in advance

Any way to turn off the PC and take out the Wireless PCI card to collect model # information?

This doesn't look like a DLink product... Odd ball for sure. Any DLink stickers at all?

On the long silver part where the antenna pin pokes out , where the green light is it says "D-Link"

Thanks for taking the time out to help.

No other model # or part#?

The only thing I'm going to recommend is get on ebay or go to the store and find you a different model adapter. There are newer ones and do up to N mode and will connect nicely to your host router. What make and model host router do you have?

Model adapters recommended are DWA-160 or 131. Can even get into a DAP model device like a 1525, 1535, 1522 or 1360 and run it in bridge mode and connect it to the LAN port on the PC. This will act as a wireless connection to your PC and connect to the host router.

What country are you in? I am starting to think that this model may not have had a U.S. release.
(From the use of "mate", I'm guessing Australia?)

I'm starting to think this may have been a non-US product that is discontinued (based on the b/g designation), which makes it that much more difficult to track down without a model number.

Ok sorry i took so long been digging .......

So i managed to get some more info for the card here is what i found ......

Manufacture : GTS

Device : 108Mbps High Speed Wireless Adapter - PCI

Driver Version : 2.1.3.4 / 2.1.34 ar5211.sys

Found this information via main PC , inserted the card and it installed it automatically problem is my main PC is running XP Pro SP3 , is this information useful for windows 7 ???

I removed the driver from :

c:\windows\system32\drivers\ar5211.sys

And placed it on a removable drive , so i have that driver but its from XP Pro.

I would do a search on the web for GTS mfr and see if there is a web site. Possible there maybe windows 7 drivers or not.

***PROBLEM SOLVED***

So i did a search on "Google" for :

"High Speed Wireless Adapter driver windows 7"

And it led me to this RAR : (I re-uploaded)

 http://www.slingfile.com/file/etmtkbyTO7

This RAR contains 3 files :

Net5211 - setup information

ar5211.sys - system file

ar52119x.sys - system file

Using Device Manager to search my PC manually i directed it to the location of the "sys" files and it has installed the driver and the card is now working very well.

Thank you for all your help , i hope this thread helps others who have this issue.
