Web browsing intermittent
« on: July 20, 2012, 02:35:34 PM »

Hi guys,

Probably a really dumb question here, Ive tried to configure my dfl-260 to have internet access. I have configured the dns relay(followed a pdf from dlink on how to create dns relays). The thing is whenever i browse, my internet access is intermittent by that i mean, i can get a couple webpages with success but whenever i try to open other pages it stops resolving,it seems that something is blocking it,looked on the log and it seems that is dropping some packets. The funny part is whenever i go to configuration and make changes(disable and enable again the ip rule) and apply them it lets me browse again but the problem manifest it self again.

Heres what ive got:

internet>dfl>lan

I havent touched the configurations by default lan_to_wan,but I did add a dns server address as an object...Here´s what i tried to do:

Allow_DNS_Relay
action SAT
service dns-all
lan  core
lannet lan_ip

allow_dns
action NAT
service dns-all
lan core
lannet lan_ip

all of this configs are before standar configuration(allow_passthrough etc)and are inside the lan_to_wan ip rule folder(tried putting the these ip rules outside the folder with no luck).

Also can you guys lead me to a pdf or other documents that explain how to configure vpns with roaming clients?

thanks in advance!!!

I guess i solved it,i rebooted to factory defaults did the wizard and added the server address in the address folder and it works now, strange but effective, checked the log though, seemed to have arp dropped packets dunno whats causing it.

Thanks anyways!
