Hello!

I was upgrading my firmware yesterday as you do,

the upload page on the web interface got down to 0 etc

i then left it 15mins, nothing was happening, So i turned off my router.

now when i turn it back on the power light is just flashing / blinking orange.

If i connect to my modem it works as a good switch

ive tried 30/30/30, makes no diffrence same blinking orange light all the time

tried getting into the emergency firmware page, but it just times out looking for 192.168.0.1 (set a static of 192.168.0.2)

is it possbile its completly bricked?

is there something im doing wrong?

is any one able to provided any other ideas or help?

What was the previous version of FW on the router?
Was there a problem with the router to make you try to upgrade FW?

What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Have you power cycled both router and ISP modem?

If none of these suggestions or trying to emergency recover process won't bring the router back to ready, then you'll need to contact your local DLink support office and probably RMA the unit back to them.

Hello,

I had the same problem with a D3 version. I encountered the same issues with the router.

After trying to reset him I finally did it but when I plug in the cable from PC it shows green light but it doesn't connect to the router.

I think a new update of firmware should solve the problem but how should I do it without being connected to the router?

Try a different cable and PC. Does the PC get an IP address of 192.168?

I managed to restore the firmware. It could be that first time I installed a different firmware (wrong file downloaded from dlink website).

I have set the static IP address 192.168.0.2 to network card and when I entered the router address 192.168.0.1 has asked for the firmware. After downloading the correct version from the website I uploaded to router and it worked.

Now I just want to solve another problem with losing wireless connection on my Nokia 500 but that's another story and not for this topic.

I had the exact same problem and i got to the page where you have to re do the update but when i try to re update it the page just says waiting for 192.168.0.1 and times out eventually. Please Help! And it doesn't say upload it says send!

Think you need to phone contact D-Link support and get it into RMA.

Thanks for the advice and they sent me an email and it said i need a receipt and 1 warranty is up.

Probably just need to find a different router. The DIR-645, 655 and 636L are good routers.

Unfortunately couldn't get it to work so I bought the 605L i would have gotten one of the ones you recommended but i live in a small apartment so i don't need much and half my small apartment has wifi so i just took the 605L thank you all for your help
