DIR-835 & IE8 wierdness
« on: July 26, 2012, 01:41:11 PM »

Hi. New poster here, I have a new dir-835 for our home network that works really well for the most part. We have one pc wired direct and 2 laptops on the wireless. We use firefox for our regular browser with no issues at all. At my work, we have a video surveillance system that I can access from the internet. The video system interface requires IE and does not work with firefox. Since installing the router, when I try to get on the internet with IE, no matter what address I put in, it goes straight to the login page of the router. I have not been able to figure out how to get around this. Like I said, firefox works fine for everything else, but I need only IE for this one purpose and I can't get past the router login screen.
Thanks
Dave

Sounds like the Internet Options for IE is to re-visit the last page that was opened maybe?

Also clear out the Internet options cache for IE.
If your using IE 8 or 9, try running it in compatibility mode.

Just wanted to post an update to "fixed".
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
My old sat internet provider had an 'optimizer app' that had changed my connection to a proxy server address... after removing that, everything is working just fine.
I didn't realize that those settings were only affecting IE and not firefox..
Thanks again

Curious, do you see any issues with Facebook or Youtube while using the 835?

Does anyone with a DIR-835 experience any issues with these 2 web sites?
