I'm puzzled that you don't seem to be able to do this (a basic feature).  Seems like when motion is detected you can only send an email or do the DI/DO thing.

I can do this quite well via the direct web-based interface (1.03 and earlier at least) on the DCS-1130, but the 932L doesn't have video record on motion option (baffled as to why not there too, but that's another issue).  So, I was thinking of using the DCS software to get motion-detected recording out of the 932L, but looks like I can't do that either?   :-\

You can, but perhaps it is not in the most obvious spot. You need to go to: Schedule Configuration, select the camera from the left side, click Configure, choose Record on Motion. Voila!
