Power over USB
« on: August 14, 2012, 12:08:18 PM »

The power output is 5V and 750 mA.
This is enough to charge most smartphones.

Tablet users (iPAD included) will not be able to tap into this "low" power source.
For example: the iPAD requires a 5V and 2,100 mA power supply (i.e. 10W).

I am pretty sure that the power output is 500ma or less, as it won't spin up most 2.5" disk drives.  It will charge a phone, as D-Link claims, but, as you say, not a device that needs more power such as an iPad.
