Hidden attribute problem
« on: August 21, 2012, 04:32:03 AM »

Bought this unit last week and all set up great with no problems except this one little issue I have in that when copying a folder over from win7, hidden files lose their hidden attribute -  >:(
e.g. files like desktop.ini, thumbs.db, folder.jpg from music and picture folders are no longer hidden...

Have search high and low on how to fix this any ideas please?

Thanks

The ShareCenter series uses the Linux filesystem, which does not share the same attributes as the Windows OS. As a result, Windows file attributes are lost after copying to the DNS-320.  You can preserve the file attributes by placing the files in an archive (e.g. zip file) before copying.
