Trying to install fun_plug
« on: August 25, 2012, 11:02:47 AM »

I'm following the directions here:

http://nas-tweaks.net/40/installation-of-the-fonz-funplug-0-5-for-ch3snas-ch3mnas-dns-323-and-many-more/

I've ended up with a ffp folder, however cannot telnet in to the device.

The fun_plug script and tarball are still there in the Volume_1 folder, and when I try to delete the ffp folder it states that I need root privileges to do that.

Anyone have any advice/help?  I just wanted an easy linux box to play around with just to get comfortable with it again, while still using the DNS-323 to back up data.

Thanks!

FunPlug is not supported in the DLink forums.

There should be a log of the FFP install/boot process that will tell you what the problem is.

No log at all.

Isn't this forum for users to help other users?  I see discussion of Alt-F firmware, but FunPlug is against the "rules"?

•This forum is for the DNS-323 product only.  Posts for other products will be removed.
• Regarding the numerous threads revolving around “hack your……,” or “turn your….into a,” type of posts, let it be known that you will, in fact, void your D-Link Warranty by applying code not issued by D-Link through our support staff or support site.
Additionally, most people here are not familiar with 3rd party options so you get better/faster responses posting on an appropriate site.

Look at your script and make sure the path to the log file actually exists. Make the appropriate directories if they do not exist.
