I know, it's obvious but it had never affected performance before.

I have my DGL-4500 on a wire rack behind my LCD TV.  I was getting slower DL speeds for some reason and decided to just raise the router about a foot higher and was able to prop it up and have it rest on the top of the TV (doesn't block any of the screen).

Wow, dudes, just doing that got my DL speeds back to where they were and increased the stability of my wifi signal.  It used to jump from 130MBPS to 104, to 72, etc.  Now, it's stable at 270-300.  I never really had an issue before with it behind the TV, which is why I kept it there but something has changed as of late.

Just throwing this out there for any of you who might be experiencing connectivity or DL speed issues.

Might be some electronic interference from the TV. I have mine behind my LCD in the bedroom with my xbox however it's set for up 5Ghz N only.

Yeah, you're probably right.  I think that new UVerse modem might be kicking out a stronger signal than the other one we had.  I lowered the output of it's power setting to the lowest I could.  I should just turn it off.

Edit: I turned off the UVerse WiFi radio.

Well if your not using the UVerse for WiFi, I would turn the radio off on it. use your Linksys or 601 as an AP for general WiFi stuff. Use the 4500 for 5Ghz gaming or streaming and such. When you get the 857 back, use as your main WiFi.

Ha!  Just picture your 4500 sitting up on the right hand corner of your TV, held up by all the wiring!   ;D
