Accessing DVC via a remote desktop crashes DVC
« on: September 05, 2012, 09:18:12 PM »

The subject pretty much tells the story. Running DVC locally (WinXP SP3) runs without issue. However, I had a need to access by remote desktop to tweak some settings and this is when this issue reared its head. Moments after logging in DVC throws an error indicating it will restart in xxx seconds or I can chose to cancel and manually shutdown.

I've just started using DVC over the past week but have used RDP many many times over the years and haven't experienced this behaviour with an application. Maybe I've been lucky but its been my experience that applications run the same when accessed via RDP - so this is a new one for me.

Has anyone else experieced this? If so, did you find a work around?

Thanks

I access our 32 cameras every morning via RDP to our server room and security PC - so my guess is that you are not matching resolutions from your camera PC from your PC. Try matching resolutions and / or not selecting to change t he resolution when you log in to check the DVC software.

Thanks for the tip - I'm able to RDP without DVC crashing. My camera feeds though are black and the osd of the date/time is frozen. Any ideas there?
