Below is a summary of everyone's input thus far. Please let me know if I over-generalized, misrepresented, or overlooked anyone's concerns and I'll refresh the list with updates. Recent additions/changes are highlighted in blue. Items addressed on the latest firmware are striked out.

DNS-320L Wishlist

• General - Improve Web UI responsiveness (sluggish performance)
• General - HDDs pre-formatted with EXT4 are forced to reformat upon first use (problematic for users lacking storage space to displace/offload data during the format process)
• General - Option to auto-unzip compressed files following download completion
• General - Option to disable the Samba service
  
• General - Power on/off on a schedule and/or system idle
• General - Remove the 2GB file size constraint for downloads via the web interface
• General - Wake on LAN support
• Backup - Support for additional services: FTP server, Amazon Glacier, Google Drive, Microsoft Sky Drive, and Dropbox
• GUI - Utilization line on graph is difficult to see (yellow line on a white background)
• Email Notification - Send email notification when USB backup/sync completes

D-Link does not publicly disclose forthcoming firmware releases. I've seen releases come as frequently as weeks apart to many many months apart. Hard to say.

The idea was to have the NAS act as a usb key (showing a default share) rather than as host when connected via usb to another device

-The following message must be ignored or there is a failure? "Dec 18 13:07:33 Fan Is Unable To Spin Or Fan Doesn't Exist." Which Fan it say? Fan1, Fan2... It has only 1 fan and it is running.
-After 5h power led is off, HD leds are on and P2P hangs.
-Move id="Menu_List" on top bar after id="my_management" in all web pages.
-P2P add/edit tracker list, add peers, select file in .torrent to download.
-firewall blocks peers (as PeerBlock 1.1 do). Very intersting option that no one do!
-add USB Storage in copy function of web_file_server function.

In mind of security many Linux based servers run SSH on non-standard port. So in this case it is inpossible to make
"Remote Backup" type NAS to Linux on that kind of server, where the SSH(RSYNC) port is different from 22.
So:

Backup - Support for selecting a port for "Remote Backup to Linux"
