I bought this router with the intention of upgrading the antennas only to find out the antenna's are NOT REMOVABLE!  Epic fail for D-Link!!  No mention of this on the box anywhere!  

Now I need to know if there is work-around to remove the antenna's or just throw it in the trash and switch brands.

It is listed in the specs here:

It is listed as FIXED antenna.

I would contact D-Liink support and ask them if they might be willing to swap routers for a model that does have detachable antenna: DIR--835, 825, 815, 655 or 628. DGL-4500 as well. Most lower end model 6 Series routers like the 615, 601 and 600 are all fixed.
