No, that is a device connection speed. Actual data xfer speeds should be around 6-9Mb approx UP and upwards of 12Mb~ approx on the Down.

* Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE Standard 802.11g and 802.11n specifications. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. Environmental factors will adversely affect wireless signal range.

I would connect to the 505 in AP mode or router mode and see what your PC or Laptop connects at. If your devices are N supporting, they should be seeing well over 54 Mb connections. 75mb? I'm not sure if marketing says 150 or if actual is 150 or 75 between connections.  ::)

that was the info I required.
I believe it only reaches 75mb on the laptop (the same laptop reaches 130mb on the host router).

it's a bit of a shame, since I was trying to get at least 100mb stable. Let's see how it goes.

Too bad it doesn't go over 75mb but for the affordable price we can't really ask more of it...
I'm heading home and will let you know if the problem is solved or not. On the meantime I've red several reviews where it  stated that it has 150mb hardware. Maybe it will be enabled in the future.

Here it mentions it also

Ok, is that MegaBits or Bytes?  ::)

You might see what connections speeds you get if you switch to Single mode N, WPA2 and AES only and Auto 20/40 and Auto channel scan.

All of these are citing the theoretical maximum rate for the raw connection.  You will NEVER see this for actual use, since some of this bandwidth is taken up with routing headers, encryption, etc.  Also, for best performance your router needs to be set to use 40MHz channels (20MHz is default.)

I recently reviewed another brand of router (not a travel router) that supports the "2x2" transmission mode that can theoretically get up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz channel.  The manufacturer supplied me with a data sheet saying that they measured 135Mbps on this band, and I am sure this was a "best case" number. For a travel router such as the DIR-505 that doesn't support the 2x2 mode, you're not going to see much over 75Mbps in the best conditions.
