Interesting find. Makes me think the 655 isn't EOL yet? I just checked the main web site and the status has changed from Phased Out to Live now.  ??? v2.07 is still latest release.

So I loaded v2.10NA on my B1 today. Seems ok. I'm still getting these mroute: pending queue full, dropping entries constantly in the syslog right after I connected one of my APs, which constantly shows activity on my network. I configured the router before going online with ISP modem. Network activity was active for about 5 minutes then settled. Then I connected the AP and thats when it started. However I got that to stop by connecting my laserjet printer to the USB port and then connecting to it with Shareport on my Mac Book Pro. Now the router seems to be behaving properly. Going to let it run for  while, I'll be gaming tonight and will see how well it does on a wired connection. These messages and network activity seem to happen everytime I reboot the router.  :-\ Now I can't get it too stop. Arggghh  >:(

So I restarted the 655 with out the SB 6180 connected to the WAN port. Router restarted and didn't get any more of the MROUTE messages. I connected the SB 6180 modem and shortly after I connected it and plugged it in, the MROUTE messages started constantly appearing again. Possible something going on between ISP Modem and these past several versions of FW. I did see this on v2.03 a few times however it stopped after a few minutes. Saw this in v2.08 beta and still seeing it. I might test one of my other SB modems and see if this happens again.

Well the 655 loaded with v2.10 seems to be stable. Haven't seen any issues after it finally stabilized from all those MROUTE entries. I'll try a different ISP modem and see if the problem follows. Wireless seems good too. XBL is great. I have not been using Traffic Shaping or QoS since I only have one xbox on my network. I might give TS and QoS try this weekend any see how it does even with one xbox running.

Yeah the US site still says 2.07 is the most current firmware. When I did a check now from the router it found 2.10 so I down loaded it and installed it. So far so good. Hope it stays stable. All the firmwares have a BO in the name even 2.07 and 2.03 still have it. The 2.10 is dated 17 Oct 2012 though.

Let us know how it works out for you. I had been running it and does seem to be working well. I managed to figured out that the MROUTE activity seems to only last for about 10 minutes then stops. Not sure what thats all about. Other then that, router seems pretty stable. Gaming is good.

One benefit I can see from this firmware for me is that it is staying in 40Mhz channel width and maintaining a 300Mbps wireless throughput. Verified by inssider. I am using this as a secondary router with a few G and N devices connected. I am very happy with the wireless connectivity. I am getting download speeds of 35Mbps and up load speeds of 2Mbps. Even though I am paying for 20 down and 2 up. Very happy with this router. Still may RMA it for the center antenna issue.

I was hoping to have a 40 Mhz channel width like sm00thpapa was getting, but sadly no such luck (I wish dlink had a force 40 Mhz channel width option.)

They cant do that any more due to the good neighbor policy standard.

I had to place a printer in a different location in which a wired connection would not be feasible.  From this I learned that if at least one device is wirelessly connected all of the time, the router will continue to use a 40 Mhz channel width :)

Nick I am the only house on the block and really have only 1 other router with in my vicinity which is across from my backyard. I have an Asus RT-N66U as my main router and the DIR-655 connected to it. The RT-N66U is locked at 40MHz for only N devices access it and the DIR-655 is for my G and N clients with the guest option enabled for family and friends. Since both routers are on different channels with no other traffic the DIR-655 is able to stay in the 40MHz width since 2.10 has been installed. I can't express my thanks enough for the 2.10 F/W I am very happy with it. But I just RMA'ed it today to fix an antenna port or they may send me a new unit. Just hope the new unit works well with F/W 2.10

So I connected my 655 to a SB 6120 with out it being connected to the cable line and didn't get any MROUTE messages. So I went live on the cable line and after the 6120 was registered with ISP and power cycled it and connected up the 655, MROUTE messages appeared again. This seems like something in FW doing this. I've waiting for longer than 10 minutes and MROUTE are still appearing in the syslog. I've power cycle eveyrthing now and will see if it stops. I hope it does.  ::)

Seems like it took a bit longer, maybe 15-20mins however the router settled down and the MROUTE stopped filling up syslog.  ::) Odd behavior since the other model routers don't exhibit this.  :-\

Well the 655 loaded with v2.10 seems to be stable. Haven't seen any issues after it finally stabilized from all those MROUTE entries. I'll try a different ISP modem and see if the problem follows.
