Hello,

FFP works well on 320L.

Why do you need those informations ?

Thanks for replying.

As usual D-Link did not provide sufficient information on the hardware specs of their product, the information provided will help me (and others) decide when purchasing another NAS.

TIA.

Many thanks to sylk78.

Just to summarized the key differences in term of HW/SW specs between this model and DNS-320:

DNS-320L
Processor: Marvell Kirkwood 88F6702 @1GHz
Memory: 256MB
Kernel: 2.6.31.8
C-Lbrary: 4.3.2
USB port: 1 x 2.0 (rear)
Cooling Fan: AVC   <-- don't have exact P/N but definitely not 40mm type
Power Adapter: 12V, 3A

DNS-320
Processor: Marvell Kirkwood 88F6281 @800Mhz
Memory: 128MB
Kernel: 2.6.22.18
C-library: 4.2.1
USB port: 1 x 2.0 (front)
Cooling Fan: ADDA AD0405HB-G73 (ball bearing type)
Power Adapter: 12V, 4A

Internet is full of tutorials. One of the most comprehensive ones is this:

Before I bought the DNS-320L I was looking for some documentation on the power consumption, and I stumbled upon this document which has a lot of useful information: http://ftp.dlink.hu/dns/dns-320L/documentation/DNS-320L_A1_External%20Spec_v1.01.pdf

Cooling Fan: AVC   <-- don't have exact P/N but definitely not 40mm type

Unfortunately this is not true. The fan is a AVC DS04010B12U which is a 40x40x10 mm. It is quite noisy, and I have ordered a Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX to replace it. At least the AVC fan i 12v, so it's easier to find a suitable replacement

If somebody owns a 320L connected to GBit:
Results of the Nastester would be very interesting for me.
Nastester:
http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance

my old 320 writes 20MByte/sec and reads 10MByte/sec

Thanks,

Not that big differences as i thought.

Did you know that the "WD green" series having Problems with NAS Systems ?
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/281368-14-green-drives-raid-load-cycle-count

i put my wd disk in my PC and use  "WDIDLE3 /S300" to set the timer to 5min.
Just to prevent for high load cycles.

No I did not know that! I can see that my WD Green disk have had more load cycles, from a weeks usage, then my Samsung disk have had in 1,5 years of usage. Thank you very much for this information. I will increase the idle time for the headparking immediately

I'm well aware of the document you mentioned.

Thank you for providing info on the cooling fan, my initial observation of its size was based on photo taken of the chassis but couldn't made up the fan P/N. I will re-post my earlier comment with the correct info.
