Last month I installed a DIR-615 router in preparation for occasionally working from home with my office laptop. Installation went well but now I forgot what password (security key) I used and my friend misplaced the box and CD so I'm not sure how to reinitialize.

I understand there is a reset button that will reset everything to the manufacturer's default. But after that, how do I access the router without the CD? Your help would be greatly appreciated as I'm suppose to work from home today and can't connect to my office. Thank you.

While the DIR-615 is powered-up, press and hold the reset button on the rear of the unit for >8 seconds. This procedure will reset all of your user settings and password to the factory default settings.

The CD is not required to access the router.  Once the router is reset, Open a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1. When the login window appears, set the user name to Admin and leave
the password box empty. Click Log In to continue.

Once connected you can create a new secure password.
