hi all

I'm new with this Forum but not with D-Link technologies...

I have a PS51D6900 Samsung Smart TV DLNA Certified;

What I'm trying to understand is if my TV is completely compatible with the 320L ShareCenter DLNA Service.

I wish to buy it to share pictures, music but essentially to view videos on the TV.

Yes, the DNS-320L has a DLNA server built in. If you have music, movies and pictures stored on your NAS you will be able to stream them from your NAS to your smart TV.

Do you have a backup for your data or is the DNS-320 going to be the only source? If so, may considering investing in two HDDs, using one for primary storage and the second as a backup. Also, if you are planning on using your DNS-320 for many large media files, you may want to invest in 3TB HDDs maximize storage.

Actually, the DNS does not support MKV or added .srt files. It's rather disappointing.

@JavaLawyer: I agree... I think it's better to start directly with 2 HDs... A little investment more but needed to simplify the future management.
@jbugel: this is really mad! As per your knowledge, is there any chance to have MKV compatibility in the next firmware upgrades? if yes, when should be scheduled?

Hi Alzi,

I have DNS320L and Samsung TV and I am trying to play video on NAS using Samsung TV with no luck.
I have enabled UPnP server with several video files and Samsung TV can see the device.
When I use Smart HUB to access my DNS320L, it only shows empty video, music and photo folders that I have not setup.

Could you please tell me how you archived this?

my Samsung ue37D5000 does not yet have Smart Hub  . I have to press the source button and then choose DLink  .

I bought a Samsung UE40ES6100 smart tv and a D-LINK DNS-320L with two WD Blue 1TB HDD.
The builtin AV media server works fine with my Windows 7 PC (both samsung allshare play and windows media player).
Unfortunately, my TV doesn't recognize the media server (it displays a question mark on the source list icon). Furthermore, if I select the source from the tv the only things i can see are three empty folders (Photo, Music and Videos) that doesn't exists on my NAS.

I installed twonky server special 7.0.9 (following this tutorial: http://nas-tweaks.net/384/installation-of-twonky-server-7-on-nas-devices/) on my NAS and it's works fine with my TV.
Note that twonky is a trial and you need to buy a license key after 30-day...

I found why the ES6100 Samsung smartTV display Empty folder. It is because a issue in DLink Media Server Soap protocole.

To prevent hacking DNS320L firmware, try to call Dlink support to ask for an FIX.

  2. UN46EH5300FXZA
 
I have no problem to access to LN32 TV from DNS-320. I see all shared folders and files, but I only see tree empty folders on UN46 TV.

Therefore, I was thinking that UN46 had some issues until I see this forum.
