Hi there!
I'm running a DIR-655 revision A3 essentially as just a fancy gigabit ethernet router since it's no longer in a suitable position for wireless use (and I've grown to despise wireless in general

). My network is essentially just a wired one, though I use PowerLine adapters to connect further away devices.
Anyway, I'm running firmware 1.31EU and have a number of questions/issues. I'm going to post these in the one topic but please let me know if I should use separate topics instead:
SharePortMy network uses all Mac computers, and I was hoping to finally switch my printer over to my DIR-655 to remove the need to have the machine nearest the printer switched on just so the others could use it! I've hooked up the printer, and installed the latest SharePort utility (v4.2) however I can't get it to detect my router, let alone my printer!
I've read various posts about using older versions of SharePort for better compatibility, however I haven't been able to find any! The only versions I can download are the latest Mac version, or old PC versions, which of course are no use.
FirmwareWhat is the actual landscape for the DIR-655's firmware right now? It seems like some are on v2.10 with mentions of IPv6 support. Can/will the A3 ever support IPv6? All my other hardware seems to support IPv6 just fine, so it'd be nice to have a fully compatible network.
DNS DynamicSince DynDNS no longer appears to offer its free service anymore, I've switched to using
DNS Dynamic. It's supposed to be compatible with DynDNS in terms of how it handles IP updates, however while my router accepts my settings, it just doesn't work.
The settings all seem to be correct, as a client I'm currently running on my computer accepted the same settings without trouble. It's not as if the router is refusing to try and connect, as it clearly makes some kind of attempt, but it seems as if it's assuming DynDNS from the log-entry:
[WARN] Wed Dec 19 14:32:26 2012 Error updating dynamic DNS entry: 401 Failed Update 401. Please check configuration. Disabling DynDNS
Not much information to go by though!
Network Uplink SpeedBasically I'd like to be able to use the automatic uplink speed measurement, however both my router and modem switch on at the same time, which means my modem doesn't always have its DHCP details right away, meaning the attempt to test uplink speed will fail. Is there any way that I can ensure that my DIR-655 will retry the uplink speed test without having to manually restart it or turn it on later?
