Hi!
As you may have noticed I'm in need of a bit of help choosing a NAS product.
Let me explain what I want to do first.
The foremost reason I want to install a NAS is to (automatically)
backup all of my current HDD's in my PC.
There are 3 HDD's, with about 6 partitions. These add up to about 2,5 TB in total.
Now, it should be feasible to backup all of the drives to one 3 TB HDD if I understood correctly.
If not, I would gladly like to know.
The other reasons are the fact that I want to be able to
access my files over the local network but also from the outside world.
This would mainly entail streaming media files to laptops, tablets and phones as it would be ideal for both hobby and work.
The last reason I would like to install a NAS is to
run a torrent client during the night.
What I had in mind was to install two 3 TB drives, the WD Green drives which run at 5400 rpm (to keep it as silent and cool as possible). And then to have
one drive function as a backup for my PC and the other one for the other things.
Would this at all be possible or are there factors which I haven't accounted for which could possible ruin this plan?
Also, what is the difference between the DNS-320L and DNS-325? Would either one be able to do all of this or perhaps neither? The D-Link website wasn't a big help.
What's the big plus of the cloud part of the DNS-320L?
Thank you for your replies and help in advance!
