DIR-825 vs Asus RTN66U
« on: December 22, 2012, 04:13:59 AM »

I've had a DIR-825 rev A for some time and decided to try out an Asus RTN66U recently.

The latter has a nicer web UI and better logging (especially compared to some of the terrible logging I've seen on later D-Link routers) and is theoretically faster but, after a few weeks, I've gone back to the DIR-825.

The range on the DIR-825 is better, and it seems more reliable (not in terms of router stability, but in terms of holding a connection steadily quite far from the router without any reconnects).

Anyway, just posting this for anyone considering the same. It may not have all the features, but in terms of just doing the basic job well, I prefer the DIR-825.
