I have a Dir 826L. Hardware vers a. firmware 1.02. It is connected to TimeWarner box from which we get their services (the DLink is doing the routing). We have two networks, and two guest networks, and almost all the time we are all on 2.4 network. We have potential to have 9 devices using networks.
I use a Toshiba, with win 7 home, use Firefox, and experience no problems.
Some of us use Android phones, and notice no issues. Some of us use Apple phones, and notice no issues.
My family uses Apple computers, Mountain Lion, and Chrome, and they experience the following problems: start computer, they may get on line or they may not and have to search to the network (which is discoverable), select our network, give password, and sign in. After 10 to 60 minutes, they will be disconnected from internet. Then, they will search for signal, usually find the signal and select it, sometimes with success, most of the time getting the password prompt again, which sometimes works and sometimes does not. Occasionally they will be told there is no signal, search again and again, find signals, find our network, and repeat above. All computers have been instructed to remember the networks, and they seem to. At any point when things do not work, unhappiness is expressed toward the one person who has a signal.
I've rebooted router, checked cords, etc. I even tried reserving their IP address on DHCP reservation list. I've followed the usual advice offered on this forum -- Qos, port, advanced stuff settings left alone.
These measures do not help.
What does not happen: router is not hot, router has not rebooted, router seems to be working normally (for me), the wind is not blowing, etc. We notice no signal strength variance. Our apple users do not experience this problem at other locations, just at home. No issue on LAN, but we don't use it much.
Router logs show their device joined, and then they leave. We also just started getting this message on lof: user.warn: syslog: Warn: select() failure; Errno(4): Interrupted system call
I surely appreciate your kind assistance.
