Is there a certain ferrad cap value to use?

Reason for posting here in the forums is that links can and do eventually become dead. Trying to keep local information here on the forums with out too much remote linking.

Sure :-)  I used 470uF 16V on one camera, and 470uF 6.3V on the other. The cameras operate on 5V, so I guess 6.3V is fine. I have only done this on two cameras, I ran out of capacitors...but the others will get the same treatment. Make sure You find a small enough cap, othervise You wont be able to get the thing together again.. 

AGAIN, MAKE SURE YOU GET MINUS and PLUS right!

I connected the plus from the cap. on the end of L8 nearest the LAN connector, and the MINUS at the end of the C38 that is away from the LAN connector. I dont think that matters, really, but that was how the original hacker had done...and it works. Dont change it, maybe it matters, I dont know.

Get free accounts at places like photobucket or imageshack and upload your photo files there. They provide [IMG] URL links to those files. Copy and Paste the [IMG] links here in the forum.

If you could take pics with better lighting (use of a flash?) to see placement of the capacitor so others can get a good view of it.

330uF works too. Voltage accross it is just 3.33 V so 6.3 V rated cap is fine.

So You expect me to climb up a ladder again, take down the camera, take it apart again, and take new pictures because YOUR monitor is to dark?

The images look clear from my end (and thank you for your efforts!). There's a good image on one of your earlier posts indicating the capacitor leads (+/-), as far as I can tell. I have to give some thought on how/where to post this, as opening up the case is not a D-Link approved use of this hardware, voiding the warranty and such, and causing potential safety concerns (i.e. whenever dealing with modifying electrical components). This is very good information, but for the moment, I'm in a quandary as to where to place it. 

I'll have to give this more thought. . .

He, he...  dont bother about the safety concerns   It is a third of the voltage, and a fraction of the current of a normal 9V battery we are talking about here...      At the point we are talking about soldering, that is...  The only danger we are talking about here, is probably the lifespan of the camera....

For the most part it's at my discretion, so long as I am mindful of corporate policy and stay within the boundaries of acceptable content. Again. . . I'll give this some thought.

I fully understand the voltage (or lack thereof!), but whenever you're dealing with modifying a device that "plugs into a wall", there's a perceived safety concern.
