DAP-2590 2.4ghz and 5ghz simultaneous transmit?
« on: January 15, 2013, 07:17:08 PM »

Is it possible to run both 2.4ghz and 5ghz a the same time?  I only have 1 device on my network that requires 2.4ghz, the rest can run at 5ghz.

Can it be done, and if so what do I need to configure?

Thanks

I don't think this is a dual simultaneous band DAP. It's either one or the other.

This really sucks... The verbiage on the description (when you scan it) reads like it can both at the same time... Now that I bought 2 and have them installed, I'm constantly having to swap modes depending on what/whose device is trying to connect...

"Versatile Access Point

The DAP-2590 AirPremier N Dual Band PoE Access Point allows network administrators to arrange a highly manageable and extremely robust dual band wireless network. All three detachable dual band antennas supply optimal wireless coverage in either 2.4GHz (802.11g and 802.11n) or 5GHz (802.11a and 802.11n) frequency bands. Enclosed in a plenum-rated metal chassis, the AirPremier N Dual Band PoE Access Point adheres to strict fire codes for placement in air passageways. For advanced installations, this high-speed access point has integrated 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, allowing installation of this device in areas where power outlets are not readily available."
