Trying to get WOL on DSL 2750U
« on: January 19, 2013, 01:44:30 AM »

Hi all,

I've been going through the forums and have spent the last 24 hrs trying to forward ports and all that good stuff.

I'm stuck.

So far this is what I have:

1. Static IP through reservation in the settings and also a Dyndns hostname;
2. Port forwarded 192.168.1.255:9 (broadcast port).

I can't get further because it seems that the magic packet is not getting through.  I use Wake on Lan, on line to send a packet.  However, checking on port 9 status, I am not confident it's going through since it says "Host up, port filtered".

Really would like to get WOL on here.  I tried the subnet mask change to 255.255.255.128, but port 9 is still filtered.

There are some real experts on here and I would really like your help.  Went calling up region service and they taught me how to connect my router to the internet all over again, after staying 30 mins on line. :'( :'( :'( :'(

Thanks,
b4nanas

Check the FAQ Library for some WoL articles.

Be aware that some modems and or routers might not support WoL.
I recommend you phone contact DLink support to ask which ones do. Ask for level 2 or higher support.
