Hi,
 I'm completely new to using NAS and have a few questions i was struggling to find answers too.

I currently have a DNS-320 with 2X 2TB HDD's running in RAID 1

 - Is it possible to upgrade 1 HDD to 3TB and everything off the remaining 2TB HDD copying over and then eventually upgrading the remaining 2TB HDD to 3TB HDD adding an extra 1TB and not losing anything?

Also, is it possible to run 2 NAS units on one network and still be able to access them both remotely?

The simple answer first.  We have a total of 6 NAS on our network and can access them as and when needed.  In fact 2 of them back up the others.

Now the more difficult part.  You have a RAID 1 setup at the moment. 

If you remove one disk and replace it with a larger one the system will rebuild the RAID array to the same size as the original, in your case 2TB and you will then have the option of formatting the remaining 1TB to give you Volume_2. 

If you subsequently add a second larger drive the RAID array will be rebuilt to the original RAID 1 size and you get another 1TB as Volume_3. 

The only way of increasing the size of the RAID array is to install two larger drives and transfer you data to it from your backup.  You do have a verified backup I assume because ant form of RAID is only for redundancy and is NEVER a backup.
