[Solved] Two PPPoE internet connections

Hello everyone.

I set up a DFL-210 with two DSL connections. I've configured the modems as Bridge, connected one modem to the WAN port and the other one to the DMZ port. Host monitoring via ICMP on both routes
and Configured Route Balance.

The failover was not working as expected, it would take some time to detect that a link had fallen(sometimes would not even detect) and mostly would not be able to restore that route after the link returned.

After a lot of time and testing I've found out the following:

I power on the DFL, it receives one IP on each PPPoE interface:
WAN1_PPPoE
WAN2_PPPoE (DMZ)

If I remove the phone cable from the modem connected to WAN1_PPPoE, the route does not get disabled, instead it seems to dial again on the other modem (on WAN2(DMZ) port). On the image bellow, was done the following:

1. Phone line of modem on wan1 disconnected, did not activate failover. (Interface wan1_PPPoE has a IP(189.75.21.49), shouldn't)
2. Phone line of modem on wan1 connected.
3. Router receives new IP on interface wan1.(Note that the IP 189.75.21.49 ceases to exist when this happens)
4. All works again.

Did anyone ever setup a DFL with multiple wan connections trough PPPoE dialing and used route failover? Thanks in advance for any help. Images below.

I've tested this setup again today, I got a second DFL, made a configuration backup and saved it to the second unit. The configuration worked like a charm on the second DFL-210, not one glitch.

My obvious conclusion was that the first DFL-210 had a hardware malfunction. But to be sure I made a complete backup of the second unit (working) and restored it to the first unit (Weird behavior.)

Everything suddenly started to work. I have absolutely no idea about what happened. But all solved.

i have heared that history before

when nothing explain the problem take a config bakcup and do a full restore of the unit to factory defaults including firmware, then do the firmware upgrade to the latest version and charge the config backup thar sometimes improve performance to, its a good maintenance practice
