Error: Object Required - function.js
« on: February 16, 2013, 03:06:58 PM »

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with the ADVANCED -> NETWORK ACCESS page on:

  • Windows XP /fully patched to FEB 2013
  • rnet Explorer 8.0
  • 1.7.0_13-b20
  • DNS-323 f/w 1.10

Needed to share an additional folder via SMB and noticed that the existing list of shares were not displayed.  It's been quite some time since I've had to look at Network Access so I'm not certain when the problem started.

Error details,

** UPDATE **

Restored to factory settings - no go.  'Volume_1' is not displayed and attempting to create additional shares simply renames 'Volume_1' to the last share name entered.

Downgraded the firmware to 1.09; I can now see the following shares => paths:

Volume_1 => Volume_1
BT => Volume_1/BT

Looks like this may be a firmware issue with 1.10

One other thing you could try is to use Firefox in place of IE8.  In a lot of cases this works.

Unfortunately, the environment is exclusively WinXP /w IE8.  Would be most helpful if others care to test Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc. to confirm if the issue is browser-specific as opposed to Java related on f/w 1.10.

Cheers,

OK, I fired up our win XP SP3 patched to latest set of patches VM and tried it.  No problems with Firefox 10-12 ESR.  I couldn't try IE because we have that stripped out on this VM.
