Cannot see DNS-320 with PC's or media player
« on: February 20, 2013, 01:06:32 AM »

Hi,

I have done a fair bit of searching but have not found this exact problem mentioned, so sorry if it has been.

My problem is this...after installing 2 new drives and changing from RAID 1 to 2 standard volumes, my PC's or media player do not find the NAS.

The NAS is connected to my wireless router via ethernet, and before I changed the drives, it would show up in My Computer (Windows 7) and the media player (WD TV Live) would find it automatically.

I can manually map both volumes and write to them no problem with both PC's, so that is not really a problem. I can also log on to it fine via wifi. The issue it is causing is that I can't connect to it with the media player.

I am using static IP.

I am sure this will just be a changed setting, but does anyone know what it could be?

Ok, I solved it. It was not the NAS at all, the problem was my router.

I logged on to the router and it showed no attached devices. So I restarted the router and all is now good
