MyBook & 510
« on: May 01, 2009, 01:32:52 PM »

I've just got a DSM-510 and have a few questions :)

I have a WD MyBook World Edition, the 510 finds it fine and I can get some things to play on it but not everything, and the things I do get to play don't seem to want to play full screen, what am I doing wrong?

Also is what is the best and easiest program to use to create/convert playable movie files?

And finally (at least for now :) ) I choose digital 1080p then the next time I turn on it defaults back to analog, so I have to plug my analog cable back in at change it back, what's wrong?

TIA

TVersity is the best, don't bother with any other software, hope they support Mac though.......check it out, it'll even let the 510 play bluray and HD files.

Isnīt Mybook restricted to share determined stuff?? like mp3 and so? check the users manual. The best and easyest program still haven`t find it. But I do can recommend xilsoft ultimate video converter, it has a nice graphical interface but too many convertion options. If you find something better or that runs under x64 natively please let me know
Regarding to codecs, donīt install any package, just install ffdshow tryouts wich should suit most of your needs without duplicating nor having too many codecs.

No it's a network drive so it can share everything, but for media it uses twonky so yes it is restricted to certain types, but I still can't be able to find a good convertor that will let me simply convert to a playable file, I will check out xilsoft  :)
