I've been looking through this forum all the way to the end after an answer to my question. But I haven't found it yet. There seems to be some ways to access files other than through the Playback Feature on the Main Console soo I am hopefull.
I've thrown away the .rcd and .log files for half of my videos. This was done when copying the data between hard drives before I knew that the software only recorded in proprietary format, I thought the .dat files were playable in VLC or that they could be converted using other software). I simply copied the folder with the .dat files onto a new drive and reformated the previous one. I've used up space on the original drive since then, so I can't retrive it using any repair software.
I'm stuck without .rcd and .log files. Only the .dat files remain, all in different folders.
I found that I could view them in the Verification tool. But I need them to play in a media player.
When I try to access them using the playback format in the Main Console I'm unable to find them. (Probably since the data doesn't have info on when and where the .dat files where constructed).
I've been trying the DBTools to repair the database, index and modify the location, but nothing happens when I press repair (or other). I guess this is due to the fact that the program can't find the .dat files, since it does so by using the .rcd and .log files.
What do I do now?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
