DHP-309AV Problem
« on: March 09, 2013, 07:26:19 PM »

I recently purchased a D-Link DHP 309AV. First of all it takes ages for me to finally get it to connect then when it finally connects the internet speed is horrendous. First it takes me 1 minute to load a youtube video  then it will only play in 240p and buffers every 10 seconds. (i have 28 down 1 up and and the router and the other AV are one level above me through)
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Link>Welcome!
What make and model is your main host router?

What region are you located?

Has a Factory Reset been performed?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask.

Test the 310AV in the same room with the main host router first with a connected PC. Does the problem still happen?

Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.
.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

WAN Port Speed set to Auto or specific speed? Some newer ISP modems support 1000Mb so manually setting to Gb speeds can be supported by the router.
Set current Time Zone, Date and Time. Use an NTP server feature.

Ok so i've figured it out half way, i went upstairs with a laptop and i plugged it in an outlet and it worked, then i went downstairs in the same room that i was in with the problem and the laptop worked here too. Then i plugged in my desktop in the same room that had the problem and it didnt work, finally i plugged my laptop back in and it no longer worked as well (middle LED was red on the AV)

Sorry if it's complicated but yea thats my situation right now. Get back to me if you can, thanks!

What make and model is your main host router?
What region are you located?

Are you powering OFF the device then back on when you are connecting each different device?

Have you tested the two 309s in the same room with each other first? Trying to see or rule out the existing power lines in your building.

Ok so I think the 309s are working then if they are working the same room and different with the Laptop. I would check to see if your desktop has the latest drivers for it's Network adapter. I would also try a different cable as well between the Desktop PC and the 309 unit.

Give the powering off then connect PC then power ON test a try.
