I have an issue, I have recently come across that the desktop that i have is only using 100.0Mbps connection even though it is set for 1Gbps Full and it was set at Auto Neg. but it is still has the same issue with both i know that the card is setup for the 1Gbps. I will get screen shots just give me sometime

This happens with different LAN wired devices or just this particular PC and Card? What mfr and model is the NIC?
Swapped cabling?
Swapped LAN ports in back?

have tried other ports in the back of the router cabling is Cat6 and it is an Intel PRO/1000 GT NIC

Do other wired LAN devices see this speed connection?

I presume it could be a NIC issue if other devices are connecting at 1Gb speeds to the router.

Can also look at the contacts on each port to make sure they are not bend or touching each other.

well and that was what i thought but i remember that i dont have other devices that connect at that speed yet seeing alot of stuff like the xboxs dont really reveal the speed they connect at but yeah got it fixed now issue with the drivers found an updated set of drivers for it now back to playing Sim City with Excellences

All Xbox game consoles are 100Mb. I presume the next gen might have 1000Mb connections. I don't know.

i understand crossover cables are no longer used because the devices know what is what....but would setting up crossover cables instead of straight thru be beneficial to less latency.... basically i want the modem and router to work less but produce more efficiency

Between client devices yes you could do that with out using a router or a switch.

This is more of what i am questioning about i want to know if this would be more efficient than using Straight thru cables because then the devices would not be doing the MDI/MDIX or would it still be doing that???

I presume the router would still be doing the MDI/MDIX. Not sure though. I presume you could try it and see.
