Well I loaded this on my 645 and don't have this problem. I would recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and see if they can trouble shoot more or get this unit into RMA.

Another disappearing password issue?

I just returned from a couple of trips during each of which the LAN (and the DIR-645) was powered down.  Just on a whim I tried logging into the router today to review some settings.  It would not accept my password but instead would accept a blank password.  I have not messed with my configuration, nor saved my settings, for quite a while, so I don't believe the previously documented change-password-following-configuration-save problem explains this.

My DIR-645 is from the NA region.  I did update the firmware from 1.03 to 1.04b10 a few months ago.  (I have not yet updated to the latest build 11.)  At that time I'm pretty sure that I took care to assign the password **before** saving the new configuration and that I verified that the assigned password survived a reboot **after** the configuration save, so I'm wondering:

Has anyone noticed any other unexplained password disappearances lately?

I have not. I would like you to update to the B11 version then see if the problem persists. Please factory reset, send firmware, factory reset again, then setup from scratch. Please use iE or FF. Keep us posted.

I guess in mean time, it would be interesting if you can reproduce this before upgrading FW…

Also, are you still using a complex PW? Can you try a 3-8 simple pw am test again?
