FW 1.08 to FW 1.10 => no connection anymore
« on: April 03, 2013, 11:37:27 AM »

Hi!

I just got today my DNS-323 and installed one WD10EADS, formatted it Ext3, I went through further settings and found FW update. It was V1.08 so I downloaded newest V1.10 and apply that firmware and seemed to install it OK. Then Restart was requested and I pressed the button and after that - nothing. 192.168.0.32 never responded again. Power led is ON, network activity light seem to show network activity. Tried to remove drive, before and after reset (15 s while powering up), but no change. Power on -power off. No response. What to do?

I am a mac user and D-link does not provide Easy Search for Mac OS X, so what to do next? Do I have an anchor model DNS-323? This is my first D-link product and start is not very good. How come official FW update does not work?

I tried with My old Windows and Easy Search and no luck. It could not see DNS-323. Funny, it reacts to power down and leds seem to work OK (blue), but not active IP.

Do you have a DHCP server in your network? If you performed the full reset, it could be picking up an IP that way. You should be able to query the DHCP server and find the IP list.

Hi!

yes, I think you are correct. I had NAS connected with a ethernet cable straight to my macbook and it was connected via WLAN to my home network and there was also another NAS LACIE Networkspace 2 with same 192.168.0.32.

I moved the DNS to normal place and put it to router (power down also the Lacie NS2) and voilá DNS-323 appeared! Firmware was updated and everything seems to be now normal. Access to the drive is OK.
For some reason it worked before FW update but after that no connection. Anyways it seems to work now! Thanks for your fast respond!
